Golf is a social sport, and we think it’s fun to share golf experiences; the good, the bad, and the ugly. Partnering with our friends at gottaGolf (The Ball Tracer & Social Golf App), SxS is proud to bring you “Golf Fails brought to you by gottaGolf,” a weekly reminder that golf is… really hard.

Happy Gilmore may be a newer, slightly less funny version of Caddyshack, but it always finds itself on the podium of best golf movies ever made.

As it turns out, the notion that getting a running start into the ball creates more distance may have some credence and Padraig Harrington — of course it’s Padraig Harrington —  has taken to using the fictional movie character’s trademark swing to warm up and create a bigger shoulder turn.

However, for our friend in the above video, there probably wasn’t any thought of a bigger shoulder turn. It was simply a secluded tee that allowed him and his friends to have a little fun, which his friends ended up having at his expense.

The swing results in a ridiculously high club slip and throw that landed some 50-60 yards away from where the swing was made. The biggest issue for our “UnHappy Gilmore”: he’ll have to cross a small river to get to his club.
