It’s been over a year since Jason Day last hoisted a trophy, the 2016 Players. Prior to that, he was on a tear that could only be described as “Tiger-like.” Now that Dustin Johnson has taken over that torrid pace, Day seems to be flying under the radar as his game has rounded into shape. With five top-10s in six U.S. Open starts, Day is a horse for the tournament.

His length and high ball flight suit Erin Hills to a T, and with his mother’s cancer scare in the rearview window, he’s primed to make his run at DJ beginning this week with his second major championship victory.
