The Fringe is Back9Network’s newest daily feature created to keep you up-to-date on the best stories happening in golf, social media and pop culture.

Dufner’s Test Drive

The WGC-Cadillac Championship is this week’s big event and the vehicle at stake for a hole-in-one is… you guessed it: a Cadillac. Apparently, the ‘Duf Daddy’ needed to get a closer look at the 2015 Escalade, which is the 15th hole’s prize, during his practice round Tuesday.

Jason, tell us how it looked. Is it worth a hole-in-one?

Swingin’ For Charity

Will Ferrell’s Desert Showdown wrapped up yesterday in La Quinta, California and if the following tweet shows any sign of how Ferrell’s day went, I’d say he had some fun out there.

Here’s a look at some of Ferrell’s best golf acts in recent history.

Welcome to the Gun Show

In case you didn’t know, Tuesday was “National Pancake Day.” For Back9Network favorite, Meghan Hardin, and the likes of other fitness conscious people, including myself, we had to turn our heads away from the fact that IHOP was giving away a free short-stack of pancakes. As a reminder that bikini season is right around the corner, you can use this photo Hardin posted of and her and her friend Stephanie Smith as some motivation to get in the gym today.

In Case You Missed It

Grantland released an amazing short documentary on Putt-Putt yesterday. A couple things you can learn from watching this film: there IS a difference between mini-golf and putt-putt, and you’ll most likely lose money if you want to try your hand at keeping up with these guys. By the way, if you like to make excuses about the windmill being in the way or a jump on a specific hole not being designed correctly, you’re out of luck pal. Putt-putt takes pure skill.

Also, adidas Golf was named the 2016 Olympic outfitter for the U.S. golf team. If history tells us anything, things could get interesting for some players who are sponsored by other sporting companies.

Out of Bounds

Mardi Gras season has begun and this police officer had no shame in taking part in some of the festivities, including showing his “Wobble” dance skills.
