Tiger’s Tourney Gets a New Sponsor

Tiger Woods’ annual tournament is getting a bit of a makeover. The AT&T National, which is being played this year at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md., has a new tournament sponsor: Quicken Loans. Starting June 26-29, the event will now be called The Quicken Loans National. Here’s a look at the new logo:

Woods took the day to announce the new partnership in Washington D.C. and appeared to also take a “selfie” with Comcast SportsNet’s Chick Hernandez.

In non-related “selfie” news, here’s a look at some other photos from Monday:

Tiger’s Masters Update

In addition to Tiger Woods’ announcement about his tournament Monday, the four-time Masters champion was asked whether or not he’d be competing at Augusta National in a couple weeks. “For Augusta, it’s actually still a little too soon, to be honest with you,” Woods said. “That’s kind of the frustrating thing about this. I had a couple weeks off and getting treatment and trying to get ready for Augusta. As of right now, it’s still too soon, which is, as I said, pretty frustrating.”

Woods pulled out of the Arnold Palmer Invitational last week citing back spasms and pain that weren’t subsiding. If he misses this year’s Masters, it’d be the first time in his career that he wouldn’t compete at Augusta National.

Dash Day Is Ready To Caddie For His Daddy

Every year the par-3 contest on Wednesday of Masters week brings in some unique celebrity caddies. In the past, there have been NBA superstars, top NASCAR drivers, and wives and girlfriends of PGA Tour players, just to name a few. This year, the cutest and smallest caddie will be on the bag for his dad, Jason Day. Day’s son, Dash, appears to be ready to go, all decked out in his Augusta whites in this photo Ellie Day tweeted on Monday.

Jason Day has finished T-2 and solo third in three Masters starts. Maybe this year, having Dash on the bag (at least for the par-3 contest) will be his lucky charm.

Drew Brees and his wife apparently got to see a special pre-screening of the movie “Noah” which opens in theaters this Friday, March 28th. They apparently also mixed up the new season of spring and Halloween.

Hey Drew, got any Reynolds Wrap left? I want to make one of those sweet swords myself.
