Tony Romo Scheduled To Play Amateur Event

We may not know where, or even if, Tony Romo will be playing football next year, but one thing we know for sure is that he’ll be taking his +3 handicap back to the golf course. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback is scheduled to play in the Azalea Invitational, an annual amateur event held at the Country Club of Charleston in South Carolina a week before The Masters.

Romo has been plagued by injuries throughout his NFL career which caused him to give up golf in 2014 to avoid doing more damage to an already surgically repaired back. This was a tough pill to swallow considering golf was a huge part of Romo’s life. In fact, Romo was a few shots away from qualifying for the U.S. Open a few times back in the lates 2000s. The 36 year-old gunslinger’s name is listed on the Azalea Invitational website.
