Omni Tucson National Golf Resort

Omni Tucson National Golf Resort

Having played longtime host to the PGA Tour’s Chrysler Classic and current host to the Champions Tour’s Cologuard Classic, the Omni Tucson National Golf Resort and Spa is no slouch when it comes to knowing a thing or two about how to make a great golfing experience.

The likes of Johnny Miller, Phil Mickelson, Jim Thorpe, Tom Watson, and Arnold Palmer have come to Tucson over the years and walked away with the trophy.

The resort, long synonymous with quality and excellence, offers everything you need for an incredible buddy trip beginning first and foremost with a level of service that has kept folks coming back for years.

Challenging Golf With A Mountain View

Two championship courses – the historic Bruce Devlin/Robert von Hagge designed par-73, 7,262-yard Catalina; and Tom Lehman’s par-70, 6,529-yard Sonoran – provide a top-notch experience for all types of golfers regardless of level of play.

At the feet of the Santa Catalina Mountains, the Catalina presents a parkland feel featuring tree-lined fairways, eight lakes, slick greens, incredible desert scenery and more than 80 bunkers. Most who have played here, including the pros, cite the par-4, 443-yard 18th as one of the most difficult closing holes in the country. There is water bordering both sides of the fairway and an approach shots are tricky into an elevated green. The final hole can make or break your round in an instant.

The Sonoran course, by contrast, offers a more traditional desert target golf experience with significant elevation changes and spots where finding an even stance will be difficult if you put yourself in the wrong spot. Several lakes and nearly 70 bunkers will challenge your game from tee to green, but generous fairways will reward accuracy.

A Desert Playground

Surrounding the golf courses, guests will enjoy all that the resort offers – or what they like to call a “desert playground” – starting with fully-appointed rooms that range from traditional to the more spacious and private premier mountain vista rooms and casitas.

Two pools with private cabanas, a world-class spa, 24-hour fitness center, tennis courts, and several restaurant options make the resort a great place to stay and play for a few days… or more.

And did we mention that the resort boasts a Bob’s Steak and Chop House, cited as one of the top 100 steakhouses in the entire country? We doubt you’ll be hungry after your meal but try to save some room for one of Bob’s signature desserts or cigars and scotch at Legends Bar.

The resort offers a bunch of great package options including the aptly named Guys Golf Getaway featuring a three-night stay with unlimited golf, daily breakfast, a $50 golf retail credit, a bucket of beers, and a food and beverage welcome.

There are also offers that include unlimited golf as well as upgraded accommodations.

Easily accessible from Phoenix by car or just about anywhere by air into Tucson International Airport, the Omni Tucson National Golf Resort and Spa is a great spot to check out for your next buddy trip.
