Then sometimes, just sometimes, you are looking for some more; something truly transformative. Something that falls on your own personal golf travel bucket list.

We’ve got just the place. Sandy Lane Hotel in the Barbados.

VACATION LIKE THE RICH AND FAMOUS

Synonymous with excellence and often cited as a playground for the world’s wealthiest travelers including movie stars and royalty for more than 50 years, Sandy Lane is truly the crème de la crème in Caribbean travel where every single detail you expect is handled seamlessly and the ones you didn’t think of, well they are handled too.

Sitting above the Caribbean Sea and featuring an amazing coral sand beach, the property oozes comfort and personal attention is found at every turn. From the nearly 50,000 sq. ft. Spa at Sandy Lane to the incredible gourmet dining to the more than 100 impeccably outfitted guest quarters to the poolside pampering, the attentive and outgoing staff here are hoping for one thing – your absolute relaxation and satisfaction.

Oh, did we forget to mention the Rolls Royce ride in from the airport?

Outside the door of your room, enjoy anything and everything you can think of to do on, in, or around the water is at your fingertips. In addition to the elaborate 7,500 sq. ft. pool featuring a cascading waterfall, guests can choose from water skiing, catamaran sailing, snorkeling, deep-sea fishing, hiking, and even a swim with turtles.

Looking to stay dry? Head over to grab a tennis lesson on one of nine fully lit courts.

THE LODGING ISN’T THE ONLY IMPRESSIVE FEATURE

Golfers are in a heaven within itself having three Tom Fazio-designed golf experiences to choose from that span across lush greens, rolling hills, and generous fairways: the Old Nine, the Country Club course (accessible to the public), and the exclusive and highly rated Green Monkey. Carved from an old limestone quarry, the par-72 course stretches to more than 7,300 yards from the tips providing challenge to players of all levels.

A dogleg right 568-yard, par-5, the 14th hole at Green Monkey presents challenges from tee to green. With a ravine running along the fairway all the way up the right, your tee shot must be kept in play. The rest of the hole plays up the steadily climbing fairway to the contoured and slick green nestled next to the ravine. Par is a good score here… but shoot for birdie.

COPIOUS FOOD OPTIONS, SO NEVER GO HUNGRY

After you and your friends have worked up an appetite on the golf course, take your choice from among Sandy Lane’s five gourmet restaurants, including the resort’s top venue, L’Acajou which features French international offerings, fresh local seafood, and a pretty expansive wine cellar. Other choices include the beachfront Bajan Blue, serving European, Caribbean and Asian influenced cuisine and a must do Sunday brunch; the casual dining poolside Spa Café; and the Country Club, offering tasty lunches with incredible views across the golf course to the Caribbean Sea.

Sandy Lane does offer a golf package that includes 3- 5- or 7-day golf passes depending upon the number of night’s you are staying. In addition, depending on the month a $700 or $1,200 food and beverage credit per stay is offered by the hotel.
