Shawnee Lodge and Conference Center

Shawnee Lodge and Conference Center

If you are looking to get back to nature and enjoy some off the course outdoor activities on your next golf trip, then consider a visit to the Shawnee Lodge and Conference Center in southern Ohio.

IT’S ALL FUN AND GAMES, EVEN OFF THE COURSE

In addition to some great golf, the resort – about a two-hour drive from Columbus or Cincinnati and set in the hills of the sprawling 63,000-acre Shawnee Forest along the Ohio River – boasts a wide selection of amenities including 65 miles of area hiking trails, indoor and outdoor pools, a game room, sauna, hot tub, tennis, basketball and shuffleboard courts, disc golf, and a slew of water activities on Roosevelt and Turkey Creek Lake.

Shawnee offers guests a choice of 50 guest rooms in the main lodge or 25 two-bedroom cottages. All rooms in the lodge have satellite TV, air-conditioning, heating, refrigerators, and private balconies. The cottages, which sleep up to six, have complete kitchens and gas log fireplaces in addition to screened porches, fire pits, and grills.

There are two solid on-site dining options with The Smokehouse serving a varied menu that includes baby back ribs, meatloaf, smoked sausage, pulled pork, and chicken pot pie. The Lounge offers pub fare like pizza, burgers, sandwiches, and salads.

KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE FAIRWAY, NOT THE VIEW

The par-72, 6,800-yard Shawnee State Park Lodge Golf Course is a nice walk and will test your accuracy with eight ponds and 40 bunkers ready to grab your ball. The course sits on a bluff overlooking the Ohio River and winds through the hills and valley providing a very picturesque yet challenging experience.

The resort offers some great deals on stays including a golf package which includes accommodations and golf for each night booked.
