Golfer Fails To Replicate Pros At Greenbrier

Golf is a social sport, and we think it’s fun to share golf experiences; the good, the bad, and the ugly. Partnering with our friends at gottaGolf (The Ball Tracer & Social Golf App), SxS is proud to bring you “Golf Fails brought to you by gottaGolf,” a weekly reminder that golf is… really hard.

Playing a golf course only hours after the pros play it is the thrill of a lifetime. After all, how likely are you to get the PGA Tour?

On Sunday evening after Kevin Na sealed his second victory on the world’s best Tour, a few select folks were able to head out to the Old White TPC’s 18th tee and try to replicate one of the most nerve-wracking tee shots of their lives.

The golfer in the video above must not have been fully prepared for the opportunity because under the pressure of a small crowd and with the heat sizzling in the West Virginia summer, the club flew out of his hands and perilously close to an expensive camera sitting some 40 yards off the front left side of the tee box.

You can trace the club’s trajectory towards the expensive camera by the changing of the crowd’s reaction; they go from laughing to groaning as the club crashes down in front of the expensive device.

Luckily for this golfer, the embarrassment of hitting a poor shot on 18 wasn’t exacerbated by having to pay a few thousand dollars in repairs for the cameras that were still around from the broadcast of the event.
