AT&T Locks in 10 More Years With Pebble Beach Pro-Am

There are few things in golf that you can count on. But among them are Pebble Beach being annually hailed as one of the top resorts in the world, and AT&T sponsoring the PGA Tour’s Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

The telecommunications giant re-upped on Monday, ensuring its name in the tournament title through 2024. AT&T has sponsored the event since 1986, making it the second-longest active sponsor on tour (behind Honda, which has had the Honda Classic since 1982).

The tournament itself began in 1937, is next scheduled for Feb. 3-9, 2014, and in all those years has raised more than $110 million for charities.

“We’re delighted to announce this 10-year extension with AT&T, whose sponsorship has played such a vital role in the growth and overall impact of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am,” said PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem in a statement. “Beyond its popularity among players, celebrities and fans, the tournament has a history of making a meaningful difference in the community by contributing more than $110 million to deserving programs. With AT&T’s commitment, the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am is assured of continuing its wonderful tradition of entertaining and giving back.”

The Pebble Beach Pro-Am is annually one of most popular PGA Tour events, as pros compete on teams with celebrities or business leaders. Yet, it is still a PGA event with a professional winner. Brandt Snedeker took that honor in 2013, and teamed with partner Toby Wilt to tie for the pro-am title.
