TPC Sawgrass’ Island Green Moves to… Halifax?

The 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass is as iconic as it gets. The island green is the trademark hole of the Players Championship, where tournaments are often won and lost.

If you’ve never had a chance to play the hole (like most people), you can head up to Halifax, Nova Scotia, to hit a few shots at a replica. You may not win the Players Championship for hitting the green, but you could win a car for acing it.

Inspired by the 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass, H2O Golf boasts the only floating ocean green in North America, and it’s even more terrifying than No. 17 at Sawgrass. The green is 700 square feet of the same grade artificial turf as Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., home of the New England Patriots.

For $10, contestants get three golf balls to try to hit the target, and every participant, regardless of hitting the green or not, receives coupons for local businesses valued at over $500. If you make a hole-in-one, you’ll win golf prizes from Callaway and Golf Central, as well as entry into the Steele Subaru H2O Golf Shoot Out in October, where you’ll have a chance at winning a 2014 Subaru Impreza.

If you’re feeling lucky (and accurate), take your chance at making a hole-in-one in Halifax. It’s sure to be a challenge.
