Performance Friday: PGA Professional Sean McTernan

Unless you’re one of the experts giving these lessons, you could probably use a little help with your golf game. The weekend is coming and that means it’s time to play some golf! It also means it would be in your best interest to brush up on your game or face the consequences and ridicule from the other members of your foursome.

Fret not, hackers, duffers and less-than-good golfers of the world, Back9Network is here to help. This week’s Performance Friday comes courtesy of PGA Professional Sean McTernan of mygolftutor.com

How to Fix a Duck Hook
“What is causing our ball to curve so violently is because our path is so far to the right. The greater the difference between these two, the more the ball is going to curve.”

Save Strokes, Chip With a Hybrid
“Get a little closer to the ball and crowd it a little bit. It makes it easier to squeeze it out low and get it running along the ground.”

Pitching Around the Green
“I want you to take a look at where your weight is when you’re hitting this shot. You should definitely have a lot more weight on your left side than your right side.”

Hitting the High Bunker Shot
“The best players in the world all use the bounce of the club. What that means is when they’re coming down into the sand, the back of the club is touching the sand first. You never see the leading edge coming in.”

Check back every Friday for a new batch of the best golf tips on the web to help you get ready for the weekend. May your drives be straight and your tales be tall.
