Fix The Most Common Amateur Swing Flaw

Coming over the top is the most common swing flaw amongst amateur golfers. If you’re a golfer who struggles with a big slice, the odds are you’re coming over the top.

In this video, Swing-U instructor Josh Kelley provides a great drill to help golfers develop an inside-out swing path.

  • Place one water bottle standing up a grip length behind your ball, just outside of the club face as you take it away.
  • Lay a second water bottle down a grip length in front of your golf ball, slightly inside your club face as you follow through.
  • To prevent injury or club damage, make sure the bottles are no more than ¼ full.
  • Hit shots with your driver missing the water bottles with your swing.
