Pick Your Chip Shots Clean

When working on your chipping basics, ball position is one of the first things amateur golfers can do to ensure crisp, ball-first contact.

Swing-U instructor Ryan Rustand demonstrates and explains how using an alignment rod can give you a simple and effective visual aid for perfect chip shots.

  • Set your trail foot parallel to the alignment rod.
  • From there, place the ball directly off of the inside of your trail foot.
  • Using a narrow stance, practice striking the ball-first and learning how the ball reacts to have a go-to chip shot.
