I wanted to get out ahead of the story and control the narrative: what happened to me today on the ninth fairway was extremely serious.
As I was stepping off the yardage for my fifth shot, I felt a wave of dizziness and knew right away from past experience that an episode of vertigo was coming on. I went to a knee in the hopes of riding it out, and when I did, my knee came down just right on my 6-iron iron cover, which has me fearful of a dislocated kneecap.
Needless to say, it was not the best way to finish my round. I also will not stand for accusations that this injury was a way for me to get out of my bets with Kyle Kupchak.
