Being a PGA club professional comes with many, many perks. Aside from the lucrative salary and the general prestige of the position, equipment manufacturers trust and rely on us as professionals to demo their equipment to make sure it can stand up to the high-performance standards that players of our caliber demand.
It’s a responsibility that I, as a club pro, do not take lightly. Today is a very special day in that regard.
At January’s PGA Show, I met with a company that is creating a ton of buzz in the industry. They’re taking short game performance to the next level.
Look at the lines. I can tell right away that the weighting is calibrated. I had the company custom grind it for me and it’s not even noticeable.
It has the anti-chunk sole and their patented no-dig leading edge. Now I know why Andy North got behind this product. It’s stunning.
When I hold this club, it oozes versatility. I envision hitting this out of hardpan bunkers, using it as a putter on temporary greens or dialing it in for those punchouts that demand a low ball flight under limbs.
Needless to say, I can’t wait to get out to my short game area and put this thing to the test.
