A common problem many amateur golfers have is that they take the club back too far on the inside. This is an issue because golfers have a tendency to bring the club back down the opposite way, creating an over-the-top swing.

Using a cone or an old shaft, practice your takeaway – checking your hand position – to ensure you’re getting the club wide on the way back so that the over-the-top move is eliminated from your swing.
