Jim Hardy and Chris O’Connell from Plane Truth Golf bring a unique teaching style to the SwingU Master Faculty. As observers of the golf ball, they are less concerned with your swing and more concerned about your impact and ball flight.
Hardy is ranked in the top 10 on Golf Digest’s list of “America’s 50 Greatest Teachers” and ranked in the “Top 100 Teachers” list of Golf Magazine. He was voted PGA National Teacher of the Year in 2007; inducted into the Texas Golf Hall of Fame in 2011; and inducted into the prestigious World Golf Teachers Hall of Fame in 2015. Hardy has tutored several PGA TOUR stars, including Peter Jacobsen, Tom Pernice, Scott McCarron, Paul Azinger, Mark O’Meara, Curtis Strange and Brad Faxon.
Mentored by Hardy since 1998, O’Connell is one of the country’s top teachers, having been ranked in Golf Magazine’s “Top 100 Teachers” list since 2013 and recognized as one of the “Best Teachers” in the state of Texas since 2011 by Golf Digest. His current students include PGA TOUR professionals Matt Kuchar, Hunter Mahan and Gavin Green.
“We’re very excited to join the SwingU Master Faculty,” said Jim Hardy, Co-Founder of Plane Truth Golf. “Our new partner’s expertise in technology, media and marketing, as well as their large, engaged audience will allow us to influence and improve an even larger number of amateur golfers.”
Co-founded by Hardy and O’Connell, Plane Truth Golf was designed to bring Hardy’s 40 years of expertise to help amateur golfers improve through one-on-one lessons with Plane Truth Certified Instructors and Plane Truth Golf Schools; continue to grow the Plane Truth Certified Instructor family; and elevate the golf games of dozens of players across the world’s major professional tours.
They also have produced several best-selling instructional books and video series, including most recently The Release: Golf’s Moment of Truth. As SwingU Master Faculty, Hardy and O’Connell will provide lessons and drills which will be distributed to the SwingU audience across e-newsletter, web and mobile.
