There’s nothing that can derail a hot round faster than taking a legal drop. Taking a look at a classic situation, let’s figure out how you can pull off a classic bad drop in everyday tournament play.

Do not ask your playing partners where they think the ball crossed the hazard; you’re not going to like their answer. Instead, make an immediate beeline to an area 30-40 yards ahead of where the ball crossed the hazard and be the first person to establish the search area because this is not an exact science, and there’s $40 of shop credit on the line.
