A common band-aid fix for downhill putts is hitting the ball off the toe of the putter, but without expertise in this area, many golfers decelerate and open the face, leading to off-line putts. Instead, try hovering the putter and feeling as if you’re topping the ball. This will allow you to make a more natural stroke motion while deadening the impact and starting the putt on line.
