The type of golf hat you wear on the course says a lot about you. With so many different styles to choose from, it can get a little overwhelming. Just be sure you are never caught in any of these.
In honor of National Hat Day, here are 10 of the most terrible hats we have seen.
Oversize Rickie Fowler Puma Hat
Rickie Fowler first burst onto the scene a few years back with his trademark flat-brimmed hat that seemed like it was six sizes too big. Then add in the fact he typically wore bright Oklahoma State orange which usually called all of the attention to himself.
While he has toned it back a little since then, this oversized Puma hat is both incredibly funny and flat-out terrifying at the same time. Honestly, we didn’t know if we should laugh or cry when we first saw this. Whatever the case, it is terrible. We wish we could tell you where to get this, but apparently, it’s a custom job. Check it out.
Looks Good on You Though
You may recognize this monstrosity from the legendary golf film, Caddyshack. Yes, this is the hat Judge Smails wore in the pro shop when Al Czervick starting ripping on it, and yes it is still terrible. Now it could be yours, just don’t expect a free bowl of soup with purchase. Check it out.
Golf Ball Head
This is essentially golf’s version of the cheesehead hat you’d find at a Green Bay Packers game. The issue is it’s not nearly as cool. In fact, if you look at it long enough it’ll probably make you dizzy. Check it out.
If you are in the market for an awful golf cartoon turned into a hat, this one is for you. We aren’t sure whose idea this was, or that there was a market that was interested in cartoon hats, but here it is in all of its glory.
Putting Green Beret
This putting green beret has been around for decades, and it still hasn’t gotten any better. We get it, you like golf, but it doesn’t mean you have to wear it on your head. Let us introduce you to a mirror and then decide if it looks good on you.
Here we have a hat that is littered with excuses to be used on the golf course, like “too many ponds” or the always popular “small holes.” The only issue is that there isn’t any excuse listed as to why you chose to wear this.
We’ve all seen the umbrella hat before, but that still doesn’t make it right. Sure you can battle the elements while keeping your hands free, but is it worth it to look like this? If you really want to piss people off, wear it on a sunny day – we dare you. Check it out.
Just Don’t Do It
Whoever made this hat was trying a little bit too hard. Combining a visor with hair and the always popular golf-club-through-the-head optical illusion never worked out for anybody. And that logo? Nike wouldn’t even make a hat that looks this awful. Check it out.
If you are the best at something, flaunt it. Even if that means duffing golf balls. While we respect the rope hat snapback style, we are going to give this a hard pass. Hey, the world needs #1 ditch diggers too!
The visor with hair is a timeless classic for anybody seeking attention, especially for those who don’t have hair themselves and have no problem looking ridiculous. How many times have you seen somebody wear this on the course? Exactly. Check it out here, if you must.
