‘Augusta Of The Amazon’ A Different Kind Of Risk/Reward Golf Course

There are only a few travel destinations on the planet where golf is absolutely out of the question. Until recently, the Peruvian Amazon rainforest was one of those places. Enter Mike ‘Mad Mick’ Collis and a couple of friends who came across an episode of CNN’s “Living Golf” documenting unusual places to play golf.

The Birmingham, England expat thought his new home in Iquitos, Peru would be the perfect place for an unusual course. So, with the help of some friends and local workers, Collis built the 9-hole, par 35 track in the midst of the jungle and dubbed it the “Augusta of the Amazon.”
