Blind British Golfer Sinks 5 Holes-In-One in 4 Years

The golf world is starting to taking notice of rising British star Peter Osborne. But he’s not a part of any professional tours.

According to the Daily Star, Osborne, 48, has become one of the top three registered blind golfers in the world by breaking several records, including hitting five holes-in-one a mere four years after he began participating in the sport.

To master his touch, Osborne uses a bright yellow ball and a range finder to determine what obstacles he has in his way and where to hit shots on the course. It’s a method that would impress some of the top professionals.

“In terms of golf, lining up is a problem, as picking a line is rather difficult when you cannot see the flag or the green,” Osborne told the newspaper. “The range finder allows me to pick out an object such as a large tree or a building directly behind the flag and fire away, hoping I have the right club.”

With a handicap of 11, Osborne’s accomplishments have caught the attention of various companies looking help him compete in tournaments around the world, while encouraging disabled children of all ages to participate. Osborne, who plays on the Scottish Disabled Golf Partnership and the European Disabled Golf Association tours, is being given £2,000, or $2,779.32 by UK optical retail chain Specsavers to assist in the cause.
