“Hack” Golfer Makes Two Aces in Three Holes

Everyone remembers their first hole-in-one. But nobody makes their second ace two holes later, right? Actually, a Montana golfer accomplished that feat no more than just a few days ago. The odds of the same golfer making two hole-in-ones in the same 18-hole round are 67 million to one, according to the National Hole In One Registry. But what about in three holes? According to this “hack”, it’s more like two billion to one!

The Great Falls Tribune has the wild report:

When George Cook sank his tee shot on No. 13 in Anaconda Hills Men’s League action Tuesday night, he said it was surreal.

“First one ever,” he said. “I figured I could check off the old bucket list.”

When he did it again two holes later, it truly was unreal.

“Oh my god. It was crazy,” Cook said. “I’m just a hack, like everybody else. I’d never even been close to one before.”

Cook aced No. 13 and No. 15 within minutes of each other at the Anaconda Hills Golf Course. Two aces in one nine-hole golf match.

“We googled the odds later,” Cook said. “It’s two-billion-to-one.”

‘I’ve been golf pro since 1978,” said Connie Cramer-Caouette, golf manager for the City of Great Falls, “and I’ve never heard of such a thing.”

Cook used a 7-iron on No. 13, which he estimates was playing to about 149 yards. Two holes later George grabs a Noodle ball and a sand wedge on No. 15, which he thinks was playing about 112 yards.

“It hops once and boom,” Cook said. “Right in. It was really cool. I had guys from all over the course coming over and congratulating me.”

For those of us who are still looking for our first, at least there’s still hope!
