Nightmare On Way To The Masters

Golf fans on the way to their dream Masters had it turn into a nightmare on Thursday morning when the bus they were riding in flipped over on the highway.

At approximately 8:45 A.M., a tour bus on I-20 east flipped with 18 passengers aboard plus the driver.  Augusta University Hospital reported they received seven victims in the crash, five in serious condition, according to the Gwinnett Daily Post

The driver, 61-year-old Steven Hoppenbrouwer, was charged with a DUI and failure to maintain a lane. Authorities say that Hoppenbrouwer went off the side of the road and overcorrected before crashing the bus into the median and overturning.

The Georgia Department of Transportation removed the bus from the highway at approximately 12 p.m.
