Golf’s Most Valuable Twitter Accounts Fetch Thousands Per Tweet

Social media is big business and its reach extends to the golf course. GOLF.com commissioned Opendorse, a company that connects marketers with athletes to build social media campaigns, to compile a list of golf’s most valuable Twitter accounts.

The names at the top of the list may not surprise you, but the dollar amount each tweet generates just might.

Opendorse evaluated a number of factors in assessing overall social media strength (engagement rate, areas of influence, viral potential, audience demographics, real vs. fake followers) to arrive at the financial “value” of a single tweet.

There’s a familiar name atop the leader board: Tiger Woods, whose tweets the company tabbed at nearly $34,000 a piece. Rounding out the top three are Rory McIlroy ($16,161) and Ian Poulter ($11,982).
