Phil Mickelson Fails To Close Out Pebble Beach Pro-Am Victory

Phil Mickelson had waited 938 days to get a win and that number will keep growing after the five-time major champion stumbled out of the gates and was overtaken by Vaughn Taylor’s magical final-round 65 to win the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

Mickelson entered the final round with a two-shot lead, but saw it erased in the first five holes as Jonas Blixt and Hiroshi Iwata took turns atop the leaderboard. Taylor, however, make his charge on the back nine, converting five birdies over the last nine holes, including four in the last six. And despite the charges from the pack, Mickelson still had the tournament within his grasp as he moved toward the Pacific Coast on the last few holes.
