The Odds: Adam Scott Favorite To Win Sony Open

The PGA Tour tees off this weekend in Honolulu, Hawaii, at the Waialae Country Club for the Sony Open.

Adam Scott tops the LVH SuperBook’s oddsboard at a price of 15-to-2. Scott won the Masters last April and took home the Golf Writers Association of America’s award for Male Player of the Year.

He had two wins overall (The Barclays) and seven top 10 finishes in 2013.

Matt Kuchar (12-to-1), Zach Johnson (12-to-1) and Jordan Spieth (15-to-1) are expected to provide Scott with the most competition.

The Linemakers picks: In terms of current form, there’s no way Zach Johnson should be 12-to-1. He should be the favorite. Tee-to-green, he was spot on last week in winning the Tournament of Champions at the Plantation Course in Kapalua.

That said, you have to go price-hunting in this type of event. At 50-1, Rory Sabbatini has some value with a runner-up finish at the Sony on his resume, and Carl Pettersson, at 60-1, has been in the top five of this event in three of the last four years. Matt Every (50-1) should have won this event two years but blew a final-round lead.]
