The Odds: Kuchar, Spieth Favorites at Byron Nelson

The PGA Tour heads to Irving, Texas, this weekend for the HP Byron Nelson Championship at the TPC Four Seasons resort, where Jordan Spieth and Matt Kuchar are the 12-to-1 co-favorites atop the LVH SuperBook’s oddsboard.

Kuchar finished 17th in last weekends’ Players Championship, but has eight top-10 finishes on the season, including a win at the RBC Heritage back in April.

While Spieth is looking for his first win of the 2014 season, he’s been well in the mix, finishing fourth in the Players Championship and second in the Masters. He has six top-10 finishes overall.

Naturally, the two are paired in the LVH matchups as well, with Kuchar the -125 favorite.

The Linemakers’ Brian Blessing, of course, has his eye on players at bigger prices.

“Jimmy Walker continues to have a terrific season, and 20-to-1 is a bargain price for him,” Blessing says.

“Long-shot plays to consider this week are Paul Casey (60-to-1) and Brooks Koepka at (80-to-1). Casey is playing on a limited basis and is highly motivated to secure a more stable status on tour.”
