The Odds: Rory McIlroy, Four Others, Control FedExCup Destiny

As a golf bettor, there are two things to keep track of this weekend: the Tour Championship and the FedExCup Playoffs. The Tour Championship is the actual event being played at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Ga., and a tournament that Rory McIlroy is favored to win, listed at 7-to-2 odds at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook.

There will also be a FedExCup Playoffs champion crowned by play’s end on Sunday. At 7-to-4, McIlroy is the clear favorite to take home that hardware as well.

A pair of four-putts took McIlroy out of the running to win last week, but he still managed to finish tied for eighth. A win this week at the Tour Championship would guarantee McIlroy the FedExCup crown and land him $10 million in prize money.

The same can be said for the rest of the top-five in the FedExCup standings: Billy Horschel (7-to-1 odds to win the FedExCup title), Bubba Watson (8-to-1), and Rickie Fowler and Adam Scott (each 15-to-1).

The odds for those four to win this week’s Tour Championship are actually inversed from their FedExCup numbers. Scott (10-to-1) and Fowler (12-to-1) are priced as the closest competitors to McIlroy, while Watson (15-to-1) and Horschel (25-to-1) check in further down the board.
