Tools Of The Trade: Brandt Snedeker’s Winning Clubs At The Farmers Insurance Open

Brandt Snedeker captured his eighth PGA Tour win at the Farmers Insurance Open on Monday at Torrey Pines after rain and hazardous winds forced the final round to be suspended on Sunday.

Snedeker finished his fourth round on Sunday afternoon, shooting an insanely impressive 3-under par 69. Posting 6-under par for the tournament and waiting for the weather to knock the rest of the field down to size, Snedeker spent Monday on the practice green and range. When neither KJ Choi nor Jimmy Walker could match his score, Snedeker claimed his first win of 2016 without hitting a shot of consequence on Monday.

Snedeker put the new Bridgestone JFR in the bag to begin 2016 and it has paid immediate dividends, resulting in T3 at Kapalua, a playoff loss at the Sony and finally, a win this week. Snedeker hit an impressive eight of 14 fairways during Sunday’s blustery final round, giving himself putts for birdie or better on 11 holes. When he reached the putting surface, his putter did the rest of the work, going 14-for-14 from inside 10 feet.
