SwingU Launches The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail App

SwingU, the golf technology and media company, announced today that it has launched the official golf facility app for the world’s largest public golf trail, the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. The app will allow members and guests to explore the RTJ Golf Trail, book tee times, as well as use on-the-course GPS, scorecard and stats on all 26 courses. App users can share Trail photos and videos, plus keep up with the latest Trail news and specials.

Alabama’s Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail is the largest golf course construction project ever attempted with 468 holes of world-class golf available to the public. With 26 championship-caliber courses at 11 different sites in Alabama, the Trail is believed by many to be the top public golf trail in the country. Numerous major golf publications and national media outlets have praised the Trail, with The New York Times having called it some of “the best public golf on Earth.”

“We had a vision to build an unparalleled Trail app to create an online community and digital clubhouse for our members and guests,” said John Cannon, President of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. “We’re very excited to launch the version 1.0 of this app and provide RTJ golfers a one-stop shop with golf features to enhance their visit. In the future, we will continue to add more features to enhance their golf experiences on the Trail.”

Users of the app can explore the Trail, and with just a few taps, easily call, book tee times, and get directions to any of the Trail’s 11 sites. The GPS and scorecard module provides accurate distances to greens and hazards, as well as digital scorecard and round stats-tracking. Users also can enter official scores and track their GHIN handicaps. The two-way golf feed offers users a way to share experiences from the Trail and keep up with the latest news, specials and events shared by Trail employees. In addition, members will have access to their membership card and loyalty rewards points digitally. “John Cannon and his team have built a world-class, multi-facility golf operation, so the bar was already very high,” said Charles Cox, CEO of SwingU. “But I believe the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail app will be the best golf facility app in the world, and I’m excited SwingU is helping grow the Trail’s online community, member engagement and most importantly, golfer revenue.”
