10 Coolest Trophies On The PGA Tour

Winning on the PGA Tour is the ultimate goal for any golf professional. A victory means that at least for that one week, you were better than anybody else in the world. Sure, the money and FedEx Cup points are important, but it’s the trophy that really matters.

Since we showed you some truly weird ones last week, here are the 10 of the coolest pieces of hardware, excluding majors, given out on Tour.

Valspar Championship

The Valspar Championship was founded back in 2000 as the Tampa Bay Classic and it has been played at Innisbrook Resort’s Copperhead course since the very beginning. If the winner wants to claim this awesome, sleek brush stroke complete with a golf ball riding a wave of Valspar paint, made from what we can only assume is copper, they will have to take on one of the toughest three-hole stretches in golf known as the Snake Pit.

It consists of bookended 440-plus par-4s and a lengthy 215-yard par-3 17th. Get through this unscathed and the trophy is yours.

Farmers Insurance Open

The winner of the Farmers Insurance Open gets this beautiful piece of hardware with an exact replica of a Torrey Pine, which the course is named for. Fun fact: this rare tree is only found along the local stretch of coastline the course is situated on.

Valero Texas Open

Everything is bigger in Texas! Not only do you get that clear trophy if you win the event, but you also get a pair of cowboy boots. It’s a nice little touch that adds some hometown feel. Plus, everybody could use a new pair of boots.

Quicken Loans National

The Quicken Loans National hands out the nation’s capital to the winner. No really, that’s the Capitol Building, just not exactly to scale. Not only does it look good on a mantle, it’s also a great conversation piece.

John Deere Classic

Sometimes these trophies write themselves. The John Deere Classic is played at TPC Deere run, and wouldn’t you know it, but that’s exactly what’s on the prize they hand out to the champion. This event, which is typically played the week before the Open Championship has produced some wonderful moments including Jordan Spieth’s first PGA Tour win.

Tour Championship

The winner of the Tour Championship, contested annually at Atlanta’s East Lake Country Club, the home of Bobby Jones, receives a replica of “Calamity Jane,” Jones’ famed putter. Since the introduction of the FedEx Cup, this is also the final event of the season and if all goes well on Sunday, not only do you get this prize, but also the shiny FedEx Cup trophy and a whole bunch of cash.

The Safeway Open is contested at Silverado Resort in Napa, California. Naturally, the winner receives this mini wine barrel, which is incredible. No word if it’s filled with wine, but for all intents and purposes, we are going to say it is. Drink up!

Sanderson Farms Championship

Sanderson Farms is the third largest poultry producer in the United States so it should be no surprise the trophy they hand out to the winner has a giant chicken on the top of it. There’s nothing cocky about it!

OHL Classic at Mayakoba

The OHL Classic takes place south of the border at the Mayakoba Resort in beautiful Playa del Carmen. Considering it’s played at El Chameleon GC, they give out a trophy featuring the animal.

Hero World Challenge

While it’s not a full field event, the Hero World Challenge has one of the most unique trophies on tour. A tiger (maybe or maybe not because it is technically one of Tiger Woods’ sponsored events) holding the world looks good on any mantle.
