Bubba Watson Putts Into Bunker, Makes Par

While previous winners of the green jacket are treated like celebrities around Augusta National Golf Club, the course itself plays no favorites. Two-time Masters winner Bubba Watson found that out early on in his final round on Sunday.

On the outside looking in at the leaders, Bubba found the green on the par-5 second hole in two, but was faced with a tricky eagle putt. With a ridge running through the middle of the green, Watson had a few avenues to choose from for his eagle try: he could attempt to ride the ridge and have the ball feed towards the cup; or he could take a more direct route that meant putting through the fringe.

The bad break left Watson scrambling for par, which he was able to secure thanks to a well-played bunker shot that he splashed out to two feet. Watson would go on to shoot 3-under par 69 thanks to a strong finish that included an eagle at the par-5 13th and a birdie on the par-3 16th.

The final-round 69 moved Watson to 9-under par for the tournament, leaving him six shots back of eventual champion Patrick Reed.
