Danny Willett: ‘My Brother Was Correct’

Team Europe was handed their first Ryder Cup defeat since 2008 in a 17-11 route by the U.S. squad, but for Ryder Cup rookie Danny Willett, the experience was just as bad as the outcome.

When asked to describe his overall Ryder Cup experience, Willett responded with a one-word answer that didn’t require much of an explanation. It was “Sh*t.”

Besides going 0-3, the current Masters Champion started his week off having answer questions about a piece his brother, P.J. Willett, penned about American golf fans, calling them “fat, stupid, greedy and classless” among other things.

While there is debate if the piece was meant to be satire or not, the unfortunate fact of the matter is that a few U.S. fans fell into this stereotype, especially on Saturday. As a result, the PGA of America started enforcing a zero-tolerance policy on inappropriate behavior which resulted in ejections.

Willett took to social media last night and agreed with his brother’s sentiments.

The 2018 Ryder Cup will be hosted on European soil at Le Golf National in Paris, France. Get your popcorn and best behavior ready.
