Korn Ferry Replaces Web.Com As Tour Sponsor

The Web.com Tour is no more.

The PGA Tour announced on Wednesday that Korn Ferry, the Los Angeles-based, global organizational consulting firm would be replacing Web.com as the presenting sponsor of the PGA Tour’s developmental circuit effective immediately.


“We welcome Korn Ferry to the PGA Tour family with today’s announcement,” PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan said. “Our thanks to Gary Burnison and his team for a partnership that will promote Korn Ferry’s mission of helping people and organizations exceed their potential, collaborating with a Tour that has proven to identify the next generation of PGA Tour talent over the last 30 years.”

The partnership will extend from this week’s Witchita Open through 2028 season. 

The Korn Ferry Tour will continue to award PGA Tour membership to the Tour’s 50 leading players, including the top 25 from the Regular Season points list and the top 25 from the three-event Korn Ferry Tour Finals points list, according to the PGA Tour’s release. 

Aside from becoming the “Official Leadership Development Firm” of the PGA Tour and all Tours under its umbrella, they also assume sponsorship of the Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance in Evansville, Indiana.

People will never discover their full potential until they are provided an abundance of opportunity. Korn Ferry and the Korn Ferry Tour provide that opportunity,”Korn Ferry Chief Executive Officer Gary Burnison said. “This sponsorship will further elevate our brand as a global organizational consultancy and extend awareness of our firm to new audiences around the world.”

Korn Ferry gets its name from its two founding partners, Lester Korn and Richard Ferry, who launched the business in 1969. 

“What I think will be really new is the impact on our players,” Korn Ferry Tour president Alex Baldwin, the first female to be named president of one of the PGA Tour’s six global Tours earlier this year, told Golf.com. “Korn Ferry comes to us with a whole suite of tools to work with our players and our tournaments, and to help tell our stories that are more than the game. They’ll help elevate the profiles of our players.

“I’ve known this company for a long time, what they stand for, how they impact people. It’s analogous to our Tour. That hunger, that drive. I think this name carries so much more meaning for this Tour.”

Korn Ferry will be the sixth title sponsor of the Tour since it began in 1990. Previous iterations of the Tour were the Ben Hogan Tour, the Nike Tour, the Buy.com Tour, the Nationwide Tour and the Web.com Tour.
