NBC To Broadcast Augusta National Women’s Amateur

Fans of Augusta National Golf Club will have an opportunity to not only see the famed Georgia Jewel before the Masters Tournament kicks off next April, they will also be able to step foot on the hallowed grounds to spectate at the inaugural Augusta National Women’s Amateur.

Held the week before the 2019 Masters, the ANWA will play its first two rounds at nearby Champions Retreat Golf Club’s Island and Bluff courses with the final round taking place at Augusta National on Saturday, April 6th. NBC Sports and Golf Channel will broadcast the event, including a three-hour broadcast window of the final round at ANGC.

The annual Drive, Chip and Putt finals will be held the following day at Augusta National as well.

“Since the announcement of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur in April, we have remained determined to organize a competition that will provide a meaningful impact on the development of the women’s game,” Augusta National and Masters chairman Fred Ridley said. “While we aim to stage a first-class championship, our motivation goes beyond the scores posted between the ropes. By providing this opportunity and shining a brighter light on this important segment of the sport, we expect role models to emerge who will help inspire a new generation of golfers.”

The ANWA will boast an international field of 72 players who will be cut down to 30 for the final round. Fans wishing to attend the event can request a ticket application through Sept. 30 at ANWAgolf.com. Similar to the lottery for Masters tickets, a two-ticket maximum will be considered for each entrant, each day, one per household.
