Price, Time Set For Tiger Vs. Phil Black Friday Match

The final details of the Tiger Woods vs. Phil Mickelson $9-million, winner-take-all, made-for-(pay per view)-television match that is slated to take place on Friday, November 23 at Shadow Creek Golf Club in Las Vegas have finally been released.

Less than a month out from the much-anticipated match, the match has a presenting sponsor, a tee time and price.

According to a release from WarnerMedia, the match, which will be available through Turner’s B/R Live, AT&T’s DIRECTV, U-verse and other providers, will be presented by Capital One, with the broadcast beginning at 3 p.m. EST/Noon PST and will be available for the suggested retail price of $19.99.

While many golf fans have turned up their nose at the prospect of paying to see Tiger and Phil play in a match that neither are fronting their own money for, the time and price release offered some redeeming qualities that should spice up the proceedings somewhat.

“During the live event competition, both Woods and Mickelson will selectively make side challenges against one another,” the release read. “For instance, Woods or Mickelson could raise the stakes by challenging the other to a long-drive, closest-to-the-pin or similar competition during a hole as they play their match, with money being donated to the winning golfer’s charity of choice.”

We polled our SwingU audience on Twitter and asked them a simple question: are you willing to pay $20 for a match in the middle of the day on Black Friday? The response didn’t bode well for Woods and Mickelson.

Just over 70% said they would not be willing shell out the cash for the event. What say you, Clubhouse audience?
