Pro Misses Putt To Miss Cut, Flips Off Hole

Emiliano Grillo needed to hole a birdie putt on the ninth hole at Liberty National on Friday, his final hole of the second round, to make the cut. When the 15-footer caught the lip and didn’t fall, the Argentinian pro did something every golfer can relate to.

With his weekend on the line, Grillo took out his frustration by flipping off the cup before tapping in for par to miss the cut by one.

While the brutal miss cost Grillo a chance to get two more rounds of FedEx Cup Playoff golf under his belt this weekend, projections from the PGA Tour have Grillo falling from 62nd entering this week to 70th.

The top-70 in the FedEx Cup standings after this week’s Northern Trust earn entry into next week’s BMW Championship.

Hopefully, Grillo will be in the field outside of Chicago next week or else the middle finger salute will have led to the last shot he hit this season.
