Tiger Poised To Play With Third Putter In Last Three Weeks

Tiger Woods appears poised to make his third putter switch in the last three weeks if Tuesday’s practice round is any indication.

Woods was spotted going around Aronomink Golf Club alongside Rory McIlroy with two putters in his bag, the most-recently-used TP Black Copper Juno blade putter as well as old faithful, the Scotty Cameron GSS Newport 2 that he’s won 13 of his 14 major championships using.

Woods had been using the mallet-style TaylorMade Ardmore 3 with relatively positive results, including top-10 finishes at both the Open and PGA Championships. However, his performance at The Northern Trust two weeks ago was one of his worst as a pro.

Woods put the Juno into play last week at the Dell Technologies Open and ranked T36 in Strokes Gained: Putting and T54 in putts per green in regulation for the week. Looking for a spark heading down the stretch of the Playoffs, Woods appears to be favoring his trust Cameron.

The official decision won’t be known until he pegs it on Thursday morning as Woods opted out of playing in Wednesday’s pro-am and he will not have pre-tournament media availability.
