Tools: Ian Poulter’s Winning Clubs At The Houston Open

Ian Poulter knew what he had to do to play in the first major championship of the season last week at the Houston Open; he had to win. Despite sitting in a tie for 123rd at 1-over par when play was suspended due to darkness on Thursday evening, Poulter played the next 55 holes in 20-under par to win the Houston Open in a sudden-death playoff over Beau Hossler.

Poulter put the Odyssey White Hot #7 back in the bag last week at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. If the putter looks familiar, it’s the same one Poulter used in the 2012 Ryder Cup where he seemingly made every putt he looked at during Europe’s come-from-behind win against the U.S. For the week, Poulter ranked 15th in strokes gained: putting and 14th in putts per green in regulation.
