Valero Winner’s Wife Steals The Show

Corey Conners became just the second Monday qualifier to win on the PGA Tour in the last 30 years on Sunday, outdueling Si Woo Kim, Charley Hoffman and Ryan Moore down the stretch at TPC San Antonio.

While Conners’ solid play through the start of the 2019 season had earned him nearly $1 million dollars already, his struggle for starts was proven by his need to make a 30-footer to simply get into a 6 players-for-1 spot playoff on Monday.

Once in the field, Conners didn’t show any signs of being intimidated, shooting his first three rounds in the 60s to ensure another strong finish. However, a quick start put Conners in the driver’s seat early in the round, which was only to be derailed by a run of four bogeys to close out the front nine.

As the back nine began, NBC’s cameras located Conners’ wife, Malory, in the gallery, and lo and behold, a star was born. As Conners put together a back nine charge that included six birdies, his bride was living and dying with every putt, becoming the star of the show.

The duo shared some time after Conners’ press conference to decompress a bit as well as watch Malory’s reactions side-by-side.

As Conners said, he will be in Augusta this week to play in his second Masters following his first win on the PGA Tour. He missed the cut at the Masters in 2015 after shooting rounds of 80 and 69.
