If you thought golf was boring, you’ve never hired a hype man as a caddie. That’s exactly what Harold Varner III did in this hilarious video produced by The Kicker. Varner, 26, was the first African-American to earn his PGA Tour card by way of the Web.com Tour last season and performed well enough to keep it for the 2016-2017 season.
The nearly three-minute video shows how Varner stays fresh during practice rounds with a little help from his caddie. He pumps him up by telling him things like he can hit it 350 and chucks his 4-iron into a bunker, because he should hit the six, obviously. However, he does cross the line when he asks Varner to be his son’s godfather.
